Reflecting on the past year

It was my birthday yesterday!

Birthdays are a time of reflection for most of us, I imagine.

Where am I going? Where have I been?

What should I do differently?

Do I know why I’m here?

If so, am I living in a way which is aligned with that soul purpose?

Am I living my life in the best way possible?

Am I serving others with kindness and compassion?

Am I sufficiently grateful for what I have?

Am I creating some change to better this world?

What could I do differently?

A few different quotes which have really impacted my life come to mind with these questions.

The first is by Mark Twain who said, “The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why.”

What is your why?

Do you know?

How would your life change if you did?

The second is by Muhammad Ali, “Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on earth.”

Are you serving others? Or just yourself? What are you doing to make the world a kinder place?

And finally, the third one is by my favorite poet, Rumi, “Giving thanks for abundance is sweeter than the abundance itself.”

Are you approaching life with a feeling of gratitude and abundance? Or is your life constantly one of lack and scarcity?

How can you change your mindset?

Journal on your answers if these bring up food for thought.
